Venus Transit

about

My main axe for many years was a 2007 MacBook Pro, running Logic Pro 9. On June 6th, 2012, I was so inspired by the Venus Transit of the previous day that I completely zarched it because it had become too sluggish to create music. After I'd downgraded from OS X 10.7 to 10.6 and reinstalled Logic, I pulled up a patch and this sound slammed at me. Eventually that slam became the main riff of this track.

Then Dell Little added the big, long "transit" jam, which excited and inspired me to close out the track with the stadium-rock-inspired full-out crescendo, and then to slow down and fall to chaos, tumbling/spinning to a stop.

This should truly be a Syntax track. Syntax was my first music project with a partner, Dell, which began after I returned home from a freshman year at Rice University, summer/fall of 1983. We laid down some pretty cool jams, and this one would be right there with any of those early ones.

I teach people how to use computers and software. I listen to a LOT of music. I explore consciousness and my pallette. I observe, organize, and categorize. I read and watch lots of space and sci-fi stuff.

I dream of doing nothing other than making music and floating in zero-g. :-)
